HOW NEAR
ARMAGEDDON - By Elana Janson

Question: Can the "seventh bowl of wrath" be correlated with happenings of the Year 2000?

Answer:

Through our knowledge of Revelation, it is not impossible that we are already living the time of the "seventh bowl of wrath" and we can understand how it relates to the present and the near future.

(The only way that one can discover Revelation's meaning is to go to every verse in the Scriptures that contains the words of Revelation and then see which words relate to Revelation's unique time measurement and the history of the Christian Church. In that way the meaning can be determined. This was the method followed in the research of "How Near Armageddon".

The "seventh bowl of wrath", which are the very last signs, can be correlated with happenings of the year 2000 and particularly to four sections of the earth.

I believe that the verses that convey the time of the very end, can be accurately correlated with current affairs in the world to-day. This is Christ's way of revealing that he is in total control of what is happening on earth. It is my purpose - because of the divine direction that I received that we are very near the end time - to convey how the verses relate to the very end time can be linked to happenings in the world in the year 2000. This I believe to be a divine calling in order to prepare the world for the Second Coming.

As time has progressed into the year 2000, it seems as if there may be a correlation with world happenings.

Sadly, I have discovered that mankind is so preoccupied with matters relating to the earth, that few will try to understand and realise how wonderfully Revelation has been constructed to take Christians by the hand through the last days. The purpose of Revelation to all mankind, is to let them know, that Christ is, and was always, keeping a close watch on his Church and every one of his followers. The ultimate purpose of Revelation is to finally give hope to Christians suffering persecutions because of their faith at this time, and those who will suffer persecution in the last days. That they can know that their suffeing is not in vain, that Christ overcame death and so will they - "death where is thy sting" - 1 Cor 15:55 )

"seventh"

In Revelation the "seventh seal", the "seventh trumpet' , and the "seventh bowl of wrath" all have to do with the time of the "short season" (or "little season") at the turn of the third millennium (1996 to about 2004)

In Revelation 8:1 the "seventh seal" is linked to the time measure of "about half and hour" which is about 12 years.

In Revelation 11:19 the sounding of the "seventh trumpet" is linked to the words "within the temple was seen the ark of the covenant", which relates to the year 2000. ( See Q&A, question IV)

In Revelation 16:17-21, "the seventh bowl of wrath", Revelation confirms that we are in the time 2000.

"four corners of the earth"

We know from Revelation that the time 2000 to 2004, includes the entire earth. It seems as if its meaning can be discovered if highlights of happenings in the West, Middle East, Far East, and South in the year 2000 are taken into account.

In order to fully understand the "seventh bowl of wrath" all the knowledge acquired in How Near Armageddon has to be brought to bear.

Let us now take a closer look at:

Rev 16:16 "The seventh angel poured his bowl into the air and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne saying, "It is done".
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"air"

It must firstly be remembered that Revelation reveals that "breath" is linked to the 'beast out of the earth' (Rev 13:15) which relates to the cloning of frogs in the time 1952 ( see chapter 14 in How near Armageddon: "The beast out of the earth"). It also links "air" to the time of the end which implies the time to meet the Lord "in the air" ( 1 Thessalonians 4:17).
"Air" and "breath" in the Scriptures also relates to Gods anger ( Isaiah 30 :33 - "the breath of the Lord, like a stream of brimstone doth kindle it). The word "brimstone" is used in Revelation in connection with the last great battle that must be Armageddon

"out of the temple"

"out of the temple" means time related to the birth of Christ. (We know this from How Near Armageddon and the 'measurement of the temple' that is the two thousand years from the time of the birth of Christ to the year 2000) Therefore the time 2000.

"voice" and "speak"

In order to understand Rev 16:16 we must know that the "voice" in the Scriptures essentially conveys the voice of man and the voice of God.

"speak" in Revelation refers to the time 1906, the time of the development of world communicaton that would ultimately in the year 2000 send the messages of 'the beast' to the entire earth. ( We know this from the the interpretation of the number 666 in How Near Armageddon.)

"throne"

"from the throne" means from the throne of God, but Revelation also speaks of the "throne of the beast" (Rev 16:10).

"It is done"

The word "done" in the light of what was said above, refers to that which was
"good " and "evil" (2 Kings 21:15 and 2 Chronicles 29:6) - likely the ultimate of good on the part of Providence and evil on the part of man, to the point of provoking God's anger.

Taking all these aspects into account , I interpret Revelation 16:16 as follows:

"In the time 2000 (out of the temple), there would be announced to the entire world ( loud voice) by the leadership of the western nations (throne), that man had discovered the blueprint of life, the human genome, and can therefore intervene in the creation of man - (air). At the same time, in the year 2000 (out of the temple) Almighty God (throne) indicated (loud voice) to the leadership of the west ("the seventh bowl of wrath" deals with the time 2000 -2004 and the four cardinal points of the earth ) that man had reached the pinnacle of his audacity (it is done), to wish to intervene in the creation of man, that must bring about the end signs ( air).

REVELATION 16:17 ESSENTIALLY RELATES TO THE WEST, BUT ALSO INVOLVES THE ENTIRE EARTH

Revelation 16:18 Then there came flashes of lightening, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a severe earthquake.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The year 2000 has been a time of great storms in the world. There has been much "rumbling". Take note of the earthquakes that have occurred after the alignment of the planets on 17 May 2000.

24 May 2000 Earthquake Greece
4 June 2000 " Sumatra, Indonesia ( 7.9)
12 June 2000 " Taipei, Taiwan (6.7)
18 June 2000 " Iceland (6.6) Cocos Islands (7.5)
27 June 2000 volvanic activity Miyakejima
5 large earth tremors 24 May to 27 June

3 July 2000 earthquake rocks islands south of Tokyo (6.4)
5 July 2000 earthquake Northern Philippines (5.2)

11 July 2000 earthquake Austria (4.8)
11 July 2000 earthquake Kodiak Island Alaska (6.5)
16 July 2000 earthquake Indonesia (5.8)
17 July 2000 earthquake Afghanistan (6.8)
20 July 2000 2 earthquakes Tokyo (6.1) and (5.5)

11 large earth tremors from 3 July to 26 July (significant increase)

REVELATION 16:18 RELATES TO THE ENTIRE EARTH

Rev 16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

Rev 16:19 (a)"and the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell"

It is possible that the earthquakes at the end of 1999 in Turkey,Taiwan and Mexico, as well as the publication of How Near Armageddon ( that divides the earth into three sections, Far East, Middle East and Far West in order to discover the meaning of Revelation), also at the end of 1999, is indicated by these words.
(The time of the opening of the scroll.)

Earth divided into FOUR sections

It also indicates that the following verses of Revelation 16 relate to a further three parts of the earth: Middle East, Far East and South.

( We know this because the very end time in Revelation is revealed by correlating current happenings in four parts of the earth to the verses of Revelation.)

Middle East

Rev 16:19 (b) "and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

Jerusalem

The meaning, I believe lies in the words of Ezekiel 21:22-24, where the words "he will call to remembrance" are found and relate to the city of Jerusalem. It could be that the dispute over the city of Jerusalem in the year 2000 may ultimately lead to Armageddon, if we are at the end time. If the armies of the world (United Nations) begin to assemble in the Middle East, it may be that the words of Jesus Christ concerning the end time "And when ye shall see Jerusalem encompassed by armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh" Luke 21:20 - may relate to the time to come.

In How near Armageddon it was shown how "the fall of Babylon" was the time of the Second World War. This was discovered by linking the words to the "hour" 1932 to 1956. ( This was the time of the Great Depression and the Second Wold War. ) Revelation also seemed to 'enlarge' Babylon, the city that lay on either side of the Euphrates river, to encompass the entire earth. Therefore, Revelation possibly indicates through the words "the great Babylon came into remembrance before God" that happenings at about the time 2000 and beyond could be reminiscent of the happenings of the time 1932 to 1956. A crisis in the Middle East could ultimately involve the entire world.

The words, " to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath", could be the ultimate war, a world war, Armageddon. It is a final war brought about by man's rejection ( "cup filled with abominable things" - Rev 17:4) of the message of Jesus Christ ( cup of Holy Communion). Readers of How Near Armageddon know that "wine" ( the colour of the amethyst stone) indicates the time about 1992 to 2004.

REVELATION 16:19 ESSENTIALLY RELATES TO JERUSALEM , THEREFORE, THE MIDDLE EAST SECTION OF THE EARTH, BUT ALSO ULTIMATELY WILL INVOLVE THE ENTIRE EARTH

Revelation 16:20: And every island fled away, and the mountains could not be found

Far East

The words "island","every" and "fled" could convey what is taking place in the islands of the Far East in the year 2000.

Island

This section could relate to the islands of the Far East and South East Asia. This is based on the time measurement in How Near Armageddon and Revelation. Revelation 8:8 was linked to the eruption of Krakatoa ( island) in 1883 and seen in How Near Armageddon as substantiating an indication of the Far East section of the earth.

Isaiah 34:14 links "beasts" to "island": "the wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island". {It seems as if Revelation combines the meaning of words relating to the end time with THE SAME WORDS as found in in other verses relating to the end time- in order to convey meaning.} We can therefore not ignore the combination of "beasts" with " fourth part of the earth" in
Rev 6:8: The fourth part of the earth is the inclusion of the "south" in the last measurements of time in Revelation. The area pinpointed here is therefore possibly the islands of South East Asia in the time 2000.

"every" and "fled"

"fled" in Revelation indicates the times that Christians had to flee on account of their religion: Rev 12:6 "the woman fled". I therefore interpret, "every island fled away" as having bearing on the religious strife in the islands of South East Asia in the year 2000 and the persecutions of Christians in that area of the earth. Many Christians wish to leave the islands for reasons ranging from ethnic clashes and persecution to political turmoil and violence. We just have to look at current happenings in Indonesia, the Solomon Islands, Figi, and the Philippines. Many Christians are also leaving Southern Africa because of violence and lawlessness.

"and the mountains were not found"

I believe that " mountains" in Revelation mean the words of the prophets and the words of Jesus Christ. "Mountains" also relate to the very end time, when some will realise that the words of Revelation and the prophets are being revealed. Isaiah 2:2 "And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains… I therefore interpret in relation to the Far East section of the earth " and the mountains could not be found" as follows. Christians of the Far East will suffer persecution, but they can know that the righteous will be resurrected. The words "were not found" relate to "Enoch was not found" - Hebrews 11:5. Enoch was taken to heaven alive. It could have the additional meaning that in the year 2000, in that section of the earth, it will not be realised that the words of the prophets are being revealed. They will not know that they are at the brink of the end time and of the last to suffer persecution before Judgement.

{Matthew 24:16 "Then let them which be in Judaea flee to the mountains" It seems ( through the key word "mountains") that this is a warning to those in Judaea ( Middle East) must at the end time look to the words of the prophets and Jesus Christ.}

REVELATION 16:20 HAS TO DO WITH THE FAR EAST SECTION OF THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE ENTIRE EARTH THAT CANNOT THROUGH FAITH, BRING THE WORDS OF THE PROPHETS AND CHRIST INTO RELATION WITH WHAT IS HAPPENING ON EARTH.

Revelation 16:21 (a) And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven

In Revelation 11:19 it is said that "great hail" will follow certain happenings. In the interpretation of Revelation's final verses of each chapter, which deal with the very end time we cannot ignore the repetition of the words "great hail".

The happenings indicated are:
1 " the temple of God was opened in heaven" . Through the key word "temple" I believe it is being conveyed that in time measured from the birth of Christ ('measure the temple'- Rev 11:1), to the year 2000, God would communicate with man on earth, through the 'opening' of the book Revelation, that the end time is near. {"heaven opened" are the words used in the Scriptures at the time of baptism of Jesus Christ and the time that the Holy Spirit descended like a dove - Matthew 3:16. In the interpretation of Revelation, it is the time that the Holy Spirit will make known to all mankind "the sign of Jonah" ( see How Near Armageddon for full explanation)}.

2 "was seen in his temple the ark of his testament". In the year 2000 it is the time that we shall see within the time measurement of the 2000 years from the birth of Christ, "the ark of his testament" - Rev 11:19. (See: Forum, Q&A, no IV.)

After this there will be a great earthquake and great storms( Rev 11:19)

"talent"

Taking into account both Revelation 11:19 and 16:21(a), it is possible that a great earthquake is to follow and a time of great storms. It is not impossible that this can relate to the time 2000, for we now understand he meaning of "temple" in Revelation. We also know that "the ark of his testament" relates to the year 2000.

I say this, also taking into account the interpretation of Rev 16:21(b).

Revelation 16:21(b) "every stone about the weight of a talent"

"stone"

The word "stone" can be a hailstone of great size, but it could also relate to the temple that stood in Jerusalem at the time of Christ.

Early in the year 2000, exceptionally large hailstones fell in Spain and Italy. This phenomena was reported world-wide.

In Matthew 24:1 - 2 we are told that the disciples showed Jesus the the buildings of the temple. He said: "There shall not be left here one stone upon the other, that shall not be thrown down".

In How Near Armagddon one of the "seven thunders" is the stone that was found on the site of the temple of Jerusalem, with the inscription " the trumpet blowing place".

We know in the year 2000, that it is the Temple Mount, the site of the first and second temples of Judaism, in Jerusalem, that is the stumbling block to the peace process in the Middle East.

Is Revelation, through the word "stone" at the end of the "seven bowls of wrath", indicating that the site of Temple Mount going to be of importance shortly before the end time? What is more, can we ignore, that we in the year 2000 are already aware of this fact?

South

Because Revelation seems to be following a pattern of indicating four sections of the earth, I think we should look at the following happenings in Southern Africa.

In the vicinity of Cape Town, South Africa, at the time of the alignment of the planets (3 May, 2000), namely 25 April 2000, 28 April 2000 and 2 May 2000, there fell to earth space debris. More space debris fell at the time 17 May 2000. A time of further alignment of the planets. What was astounding was that thousands of pieces of debris orbit above us, but at the times of the alignment of the planets, pieces of debris weighing "about a talent" ( about a hundred pounds) were seen to fall to the earth. Photographs were published in most South African newspapers. Two pieces were respectively 70lbs and 110lbs. It was reported on CNN.com, 3 May 2000 "Space debris rain down on South Africa", (and this is of significance) that it could not be remembered that items of space debris had previously fallen in South Africa.

The full meaning of the words "about a talent" also relates to the "parable of the talents" as told by Jesus Christ ( Matthew 25:15-30). As the servant to whom was given one talent, hid his talent in the "earth", so the world in the year 2000 will be so under the influence of the "beast out of the earth"( consult How Near Armageddon), that mankind will not realise that the fulfilment of the words of Jesus Christ relating to the end time are actually taking place.

Revelation 16:21(c) and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; because the plague thereof was exceeding great.

"blasphemed"

The word "blasphemed" is used three times in Revelation, chapter 16 ( 16:9,11 and 21). In How Near Armageddon it indicates times that the Christian nations of the West would enforce religious equality world-wide. The problem that Revelation seems to have with religious equality is the following: as time progressed through the twentieth century, the establishment of this universal law, undermined the words of Jesus Christ that salvation and everlasting life can only be attained through Jesus Christ. John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but through me".

In Revelation 16:9 it was the time 1932 to 1968, when religious equality was established as an irrevocable universal law and in Rev 16:11, the time 1956 to 1992, when the promiscuous living of all mankind would lead to the devastating AIDS plague ("pains and their sores").

I therefore interpret Revelation 16:21(c) as follows: In the time 2000 and beyond, the international law of religious equality that universally undermines the Absolute Truths of Christianity ( "blasphemed") will reach its maximum point ("exceeding great"). Worldwide the year 2000 is a time of great storms and these may continue in the time to come ( "of the hail"). In particularly the Southern areas of the world, the AIDS plague will ravage mankind ("because of the plague"). Also at that time God will intervene ("exceeding great") and reveal that the book Revelation is being opened. (See "exceeding great" in 2 Peter 1:4 "exceeding great and precious promises" and 1Tim 1:14 "And the grace of our lord was exceedingly abundant").

REVEALTION 16:21 HAS ESSNTIALLY TO DO WITH THE SOUTHERN SECTION OF THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE ENTIRE RULING OF THE NATIONS THROUGH THE WORD "BLASPHEMED"

Through the words "exceeding great" that are linked to the "promises" of Jesus Christ in 2 Peter 1:4, it is possible that this part of Revelation is linked to the words of Jesus Christ regarding the end time.

"Sun, moon and stars"

Luke 21:24 "and Jerusalem will be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth the earth distress of the nations, with perplexity……." Isaiah 22:5 "it is a day of of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity…" Luke 9:7 "Herod was perplexed" (Herod was perplexed by the miracles that Jesus Christ was doing.) Does the word "perplexity" used in relation to the end time indicate that at the end of days there will be rumours of the fulfilment of the prophecies of Jesus Christ - like the "sign of Jonah" and the meaning of the book Revelation?

As mentioned, the total eclipse of the sun in the Northern Hemisphere at the end of 1999 was the time of the revealing of the meaning of the book Revelation. The time of the total eclipse of the moon in February 2000 was the time of the devastating floods in Mozambique and the time that all the world would see the plight of a woman who had to give birth in a tree amidst the raging flood waters.
{ The word "see" in Revelation ( see How Near Armageddon, chapter "the beast out of the earth") can by time measurement be linked to the development of television and in the year 2000 to the development of televised world communication.}

The alignment of the planets in May 2000, was the time of the beginning of more frequent tremors of the earth's crust.

We cannot ignore that in the midst of the year 2000, the armies are gathering to Jerusalem.

Time measurement

It was possible to correlate the history of the past two millennia, with almost the entire book of Revelation. The purpose of indicating how the "seventh bowl of wrath" can be linked to current happenings of the year 2000, is to illustrate how near to the end time we may be.
