HOW NEAR
ARMAGEDDON - By Elana Janson

Question: If Revelation correlates with the history of the past two millennia then it must be that the history of man has been predestined and man has no free will.

Answer: ( 2 June 2000) From the insight that I was given in the book Revelation, I believe that all mankind is on a path of destruction, but the individual has the right to choose everlasting life until the very end.

The interpretation of Revelation as set out in "How Near Armageddon", indicates the great love that the risen Jesus Christ has for man. It indicates that Revelation of John was written in such a way that it could only be fully understood at the very end of the twentieth century. This generation (according to the interpretation, those living in the time 1932- 2004) experienced or are still experiencing the full impact of the decisions made by all mankind through the history of the past two millennia concerning the relationship between man and the message and teachings of Jesus Christ. This insight could only be given at a point that would be justified, that man be given such revelation - for God is a righteous God. It seems that in the year 2000, mankind has moved so far from the teachings of Jesus Christ and become so negligent in his pursuit of eternal life, that through the grace of God, the words of Revelation can be revealed to man - as a last chance to be saved.

Through the message of Revelation it seems that it is particularly the influence of the amalgamation of religious thoughts at the end of the twentieth century, that would bring about the opening of the scroll. Christians must not forget the message that the only sure way to the Father is through Jesus Christ. The opening of the scroll is a last chance for Christians and all mankind to know where they stand in relation to the Second Coming and are given some insight into the greatness of God.

The Revelation of John reveals that God has always known how total man ( this is indicated by the use of numbers of totality such as seven, ten and twelve) would respond in history. It seems as if judgement of the individual will be according to how he made his choices within this course of history. These choices would become all the more difficult as time progressed because of the result of decisions that man made driven through his earthly nature and his right to free choice. This concept is strengthened by the great number of kings that are included in the "beast out of the sea" in Revelation. It seems as if God always knew how kings would react in the course of history. The individual king and later the "generals" and "mighty men" (Rev 19:18) will be judged according to how they ruled their subordinates in the course of history.

This does not exclude that Almighty God knows how man will ultimately choose, for he is God. This idea is strengthened by the words of Rev13:8 "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. What this verse, that seems so contradictory means, is that at the point that the Christian religion has spread to the ends of the earth (all that dwell upon the earth), that is in the time after the second half of the twentieth century, those that think that they worship him will be deceived that their names are written in the book of life, because of the total influence of the beast out of the sea and the beast out of the earth.

The reason for this being that many Christians within the Christian Church would have been misled to thinking that they can worship a Supreme Being that is an amalgamation of religions, that is not Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, the Messiah who died on the cross. They bring this idea into the Christian Church, because in the year 2000 the law of the nations promotes an equalization of religions, because men through the second millennium thought that this could bring peace on earth. Revelation reveals that unwittingly this concept is brought into the Christian Church world-wide and is undermining the esteem and high regard required by Christians in the praise of the Trinity. (Remember the warning to the churches of Ephesus, Pergamum and Thyatira, that they should not bring the concepts of the non-Christians into the Christian church).

When this happens unwittingly the numbers of the Christian church will dwindle and people will not know why. It is because, once Christians accept the idea of an amalgamation of religions in their minds (and God knows this) they do not give Jesus Christ and the message of the Cross, the esteem and reverence required. They become lax about taking Holy Communion and church attendance. The power (through the Holy Spirit ) is undermined by that congregation and God may decide to 'take away its lamp' (Rev 2:5) or 'spit it out of his mouth' (Rev 3:16) as Jesus Christ said to the congregations of Ephesus and Laodicea.

Revelation, I believe indicates that this is happening to the Christian Church, almost throughout the world in the year 2000, and Almighty God, through his grace, has opened the scroll, so that man can finally become aware to what degree he is being deceived. By the time Revelation is known to men, there will be no change in the ruling of the nations and most men will not change. That is why Rev 22:11 says "Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let he who is right continue to do right; let him who is holy continue to be holy. Yet, Revelation also says seven times ( that means to the entire world) that "he who has an ear let him hear" meaning that if the interpretation of Revelation in the year 2000 convinces you that Christ is the Son of God, and you accept him, you can still choose Christ and his teachings and be saved.

God knows man so well, that he knew that in the year 2000, men would seek answers through hard facts, for men would by the that time understand many realities of the universe. Revelation correlates with the hard facts of history, therefore men and women in the year 2000, can know that the prophecy is true and that judgement will soon take place ( the opening of the scroll is one of the last signs of the end time). Almighty God, through Jesus Christ, gives this generation, that according to Revelation is about to be condemned, a last chance to choose, for he knows that there are some who at this point in time still can have everlasting life. Revelation says accept the greatness of the Trinity; accept predestination (because Revelation indicates this to be so, but remains an aspect of God that goes beyond man's understanding); accept the chance that you can still choose everlasting life - accept that God wishes it so.
