Yes, the evidence supporting the case for this being part of the build-up to Armageddon seems strong. The mix of Nuclear Arms and Big Oil is one of the few mixes in the world that can justify prediction of a disaster to match the Biblical Armageddon scenario. The motivation, always great, for either Russia or China to make a move on the oil fields, has now tripled as the oil price has tripled.
