I just hope and pray that I am getting something right in the formulating of this theoretical idea of what has been going on since the Big Bang. To continue:

Having an ego gives us the potential to end up in two very different places. We can use it to decide for God, and following through on that decision takes us on a long and difficult road (in this world) to the Kingdom of God. Or we can use it to decide for ourselves, which takes us down a broader and easier road which ends in Satan's pit, a sudden and very unpleasant surprise.

Now, what has all the foregoing to do with making the case for more miracles?

It has to do with the fact that if one experiences a miracle of God, in circumstances which show clearly that it is God acting, reasonably early in one's life, then it is a whole lot easier to make the decision for God rather than for ourselves. This is particularly true for young men, who in their teens and twenties tend to think a lot about where power lies in the world.

In fact making the decision for God, without having experienced a miracle of God early in life, is for most young men extremely difficult. The average young man would see that decision as irrational, and I personally would not blame him. The evidence that he sees before him as he grows up contains very little to persuade him that God the Son really does hold all power in heaven and earth. There is a lot of evidence around to persuade him that it is powerful people who decide what happens in this world, especially powerful men.

And how do we get more miracles happening in the lives of ordinary Christians of all ages?

We ask for them. And we keep asking, month in and month out, year in and year out, in as unselfish a manner as possible, until God is persuaded that we really do value his works (Luke 18:3-8).

A man here in South Africa who knows about works of God is Angus Buchan, God did so many amazing works in the lead-up to the recent 'Million' meeting outside Bloemfontein, that Angus now has a conviction that God has actually started Revival in this country. If we want more miracles, a good place to start would be to join the many who are praying this revival forward. In the world of the Spirit, the best way to develop new gifts is to work with those who are already practising them.

End.
